Terms of Use

pillGOAT is not medical advice

pillGOAT is a personal record-keeping tool. It helps you write down what you take and when you took it. It does not diagnose, treat, or advise, and it is not a medical device.

Nothing in the app — including reminders, adherence figures, exported reports, drug label text, or injection site suggestions — is a recommendation about your health. Decisions about your medication belong to you and your prescriber. Never change, skip, or start a medication because of something the app showed you.

If you think you are having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number.

These terms are an agreement between you and Skiff Labs LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("Skiff Labs", "we", "us"). They apply when you download or use pillGOAT (the "app"). By using the app, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

1Who may use pillGOAT

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to agree to these terms. An adult may use the app to keep records for a child or another person in their care.

2Reminders are best effort, not a guarantee

This matters more than anything else in these terms, so we will be blunt about it.

pillGOAT schedules reminders through iOS. Whether a reminder actually reaches you depends on your device and its settings — not on us. A reminder can fail to appear because notifications are turned off, a Focus mode is filtering them, the device is off, out of battery, in Airplane Mode, storing too many pending notifications, or because iOS changed something about how notifications work. Time zone changes, daylight saving transitions, and device restarts can also affect timing.

Do not rely on pillGOAT as your only safeguard for taking a medication, particularly where a missed or doubled dose could harm you. The app is a record and a prompt, not a guarantee that you will be prompted.

3You are responsible for what you enter

The app records what you tell it. If you enter a medication, dose, or schedule incorrectly, the app will faithfully remind you of the wrong thing and produce reports that are wrong in the same way. Check what you enter, particularly after scanning a prescription label, where text recognition can misread a strength or a number.

Supply counts, days-of-supply estimates, and refill warnings are arithmetic based on what you entered. They are not a substitute for looking at what you actually have on hand.

4Drug information comes from third parties

Medication names, strengths, and label text come from RxNorm and DailyMed, public databases published by the US National Library of Medicine. We pass that information through; we do not write it, verify it, or update it. It may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong, and it may not describe the specific product you were dispensed. The label in the box and your pharmacist are authoritative. The app is not.

5Your data and your backups

Your records are stored on your device and, if you enable iCloud sync, in your own iCloud account. We do not hold a copy, which means we cannot recover your data for you if you delete the app without iCloud sync on, lose your device, or delete the data from iCloud. Keeping a backup — through iCloud, a device backup, or exported PDFs — is your responsibility.

How we handle information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

6Subscriptions

The 30-day trial

New users get full access to every premium feature for 30 days. This trial requires no payment method and does not turn into a paid subscription on its own. Nothing is charged unless you choose to subscribe.

When the trial ends, the app keeps working. Your medications, schedules, reminders, and your entire logged history remain available and unlimited. What becomes limited is a set of premium features, described in the app.

If you subscribe

pillGOAT Premium is offered as a monthly or an annual subscription. Current prices are shown in the app and on the App Store, and they vary by country and can change over time. Purchases are processed by Apple, not by us. We never see or handle your payment details.

Refunds

Apple handles all billing and refunds under its own terms. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases. Refund requests go to Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com. If a purchase went wrong and you want us to look into it, write to us and we will help where we can.

Changes to features and pricing

We may add, change, or remove features over time. If we make a change that materially reduces what an active subscription provides, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Price changes are handled through Apple, which will notify you and, where required, ask you to consent before the new price applies.

7Your licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use pillGOAT on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, resell, or redistribute the app, or attempt to extract its source code, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.

Apple's standard licence terms for App Store apps also apply to your use of pillGOAT. Where those terms conflict with these ones, Apple's terms govern for the parts they cover.

8Acceptable use

Use pillGOAT for keeping medication records for yourself or people in your care. Do not use it to break the law, to interfere with the app's operation, or to gain access to systems or data you are not entitled to.

9Apple's role

These terms are between you and Skiff Labs LLC, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for pillGOAT or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.

10No warranty

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT REMINDERS WILL BE DELIVERED ON TIME OR AT ALL.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SKIFF LABS LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR PERSONAL INJURY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING ANY MISSED, LATE, DUPLICATED, OR INCORRECT DOSE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY US DOLLARS.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

12Ending these terms

You can stop using pillGOAT at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive — disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — continue to apply after these terms end.

13Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and material changes will also be noted in the app. Continuing to use pillGOAT after a change means you accept the updated terms.

14Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose laws give you the right to bring proceedings locally or to the protection of mandatory local consumer law, this section does not take that right away.
